Smuggler nabbed with 35 kg bukki on Mughal Road

POONCH, July 4: The police arrested a truck driver involved in smuggling of contraband material and recovered 35 kg of Bukki (Poppy husk) from his possession on Mughal Road today.
A police spokesman said that acting on specific inputs, Surankote police during naka near Behramgalla on Mughal Road, intercepted a truck coming from Kashmir side towards Punjab during morning hours. During the search of the vehicle, the police party managed to recover two gunny bags filled with 35 kg poppy husk concealed in the toll box and under seats.
The police seized the contraband material along with truck No PB06N/2515 and arrested the driver. He was identified as Gurbachan Singh, resident of Kapurthala in Punjab. A case was registered against him at Surankote Police Station. Further investigation was in progress.
