Smuggler arrested with opium

JAMMU, Sept 27: Railway Police today arrested a man with contraband of opium from Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
Acting on tip off, a police team headed by SDPO Railways Jammu, DySP Anita Pawar along with Station House Officer Vinod Kundal, this evening arrested one person from the railway station.
Police said that the arrested narcotic smuggler was identified as Sagar Thappa, son of Rajan Thappa, resident of Nepal, presently staying at Gangyal.
During search, 4.5 kg of opium (ganja) was recovered from his possession, police said adding, “he was the courier but manhunt launched to nab the kingpin.”
Meanwhile a case under FIR number 13 and under section 8/20 of NDPS Act was registered and investigation started, police added.
