JAMMU, May 12: Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia today said that the Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a gathering at village Rajinder Pura in Purmandal block of Samba district here today.
On the occasion, the Minister also paid tributes to Brig Rajinder Singh by offering flowers at his local memorial (Statue).
He announced Rupees one crore for construction of deep bore well for providing additional drinking water facilities to the people of the area. He also issued instruction to the concerned department for installation of 50,000 gallons water capacity storage take to facilitate the people.
The Minister also announced Rs.10 lakh for the modernisation of ( Pacca Sorover ) local water body and assured that the work would be started soon.
The Minister said that two bathrooms would be constructed for the convenience of local women folk within shortest possible time.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed cheques among 50 BPL families each Rs.3700 for construction of toilets under the rural sanitation scheme.
The Minister instructed Chief Education Officer Samba to ensure that SC students of the area get the scholarship due to them in time.
