Slathia, others pay homage to martyr Deepak Kumar

VIJAYPUR, Dec 1: Paying respectful homage to martyr Deepak Kumar of CRPF-223 Cobra Bn on his second death anniversary, former minister and senior NC leader Surjeet Singh Slathia today said that such sacrifices demonstrate nation’s will to defend its territorial integrity and fighting elements inimical to peace.
“Shaheed Deepak Kumar has left an indelible mark of heroism by fighting Naxalites and such supreme sacrifices will always inspire people of this country to remain in the forefront for taking on anti-national and anti-social elements who believe in violence for achieving political objectives”, Mr Slathia said while addressing a gathering at the native village Kalah Swankha of Ramgarh area in Samba district of Shaheed Deepak Kumar.
A large number of people joined Mr Slathia in paying floral tributes to the martyr. The former minister lauded the valour of valiant jawans and officers in upholding the integrity and sovereignty of the nation, saying the country will always remain indebted to the great sacrifices of its heroes. He said observing the martyrdom of valiant soldiers depict the gratitude of the indebted people to national heroes who gave up their today for our safe tomorrow.
Mr Slathia and others, including the para-military and civil officers besides prominent citizens paid floral tributes to Shaheed Deepak Kumar. They included 2nd IC BS Chohan 38 Bn CRPF, Deputy Commandant JP Sharma, 38 Bn CRPF; Tehsildar Ramgarh Jairam Sharma besides Ex- Sarpanches, Rampal Sharma, Subhash Sharma, Mohan Lal Sharma, Baldev Singh, Rakesh Dogra and others.
Family members of the great martyr were also present. Shaheed Deepak Kumar laid down his life on 1st December 2014 under Operation Dantewada (Chhattisgarh) fighting with Naxalies. He was born at village Kalah on March 3, 1992. At the age of 8, he lost his father Tarseem Lal and mother. His uncle Bodh Raj looked after Deepak and his elder sister.
