Slathia inaugurates development works

JAMMU, Nov 15: Former Minister and MLA Vijaypur, Surjeet Singh Slathia on Friday said that focused attention is being paid at inclusive development of Jammu and Kashmir with thrust on infrastructure and upgradation of various facilities to enhance the quality of life of the people.
Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating Community Health Centre at Chak Chattaka in Vijaypur at the cost of Rs.54.40 lakh under BADP. Slathia enumerated various initiatives taken in this regard and said the effort will continue with renewed vigour and determination.
Describing rural and far off development main plank of the Omar Abdullah led Government, Slathia referred to the historic Panchayat elections and said the step aims at involving the people at gross roots level in the decision making. He hoped that the village community will get involved in the development effort in a big way.
Referring to the measures taken to give fillip to developmental initiatives, Slathia said that a massive effort is underway to ensure inclusive development of the three regions with focus on remote and far-flung areas.
District Development Commissioner, Samba, R K Varma and various district officers also accompanied the MLA.
