JAMMU, Feb 17: SKUA-ST-Teaching Associ-ation-Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) has strongly resented the demand raised regarding the appointment of IAS or senior KAS officer as Registrar of the University.
In a statement, the SKUAST-TAJ president Vikas Sharma sought to clarify that cases of incumbents who are booked by State Vigilance Organization (SVO) are under investigation and law of land will take its own course, however, it is not the prerogative of anyone to interfere in the investigation by putting pressure on investigating agency and university authority.
Dr. Vikas also condemned the attitude of people who are putting question mark regarding integrity and competence of varsity teachers for the top most positions. He further stressed that teachers had played constructive role in shaping future of so many IAS and KAS officers of great repute, who are doing excellent job in their respective fields.
Dr Vivak M Arya, general secretary of the Association, emphasized that investigation of certain cases should be purely based on constitutional procedures and investigation agencies will take these cases to logical conclusion without any fear and fair. He said that university is in its infancy stage and has made rapid strides in the field of teaching, research and extension in the last 15 years and further warned that SKUAST-TAJ will not tolerate any element who will defame the only farm and professional university of the region for personnel vested interests and agendas.
