JAMMU, Aug 18: Under the leadership of Dr B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, AICRP Weed Management, Division of Agronomy organised a Parthenium Awareness Camp at village Kotli Mirdhain, R S Pura today.
In this programme, Dr B R Bazaya, Chief Scientist and Principal Investigator, AICRP Weed Management, SKUAST-Jammu highlighted the harmful effects of Parthenium weed on the health of human beings, animals and crop biodiversity. He discussed the control measures of parthenium like biological control named Mexican Beetle larval and adults feed voraciously on Parthenium weed which was earlier released by AICRP Weed Management, SKUAST Jammu.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, SKUAST-Jammu.
