JAMMU, Jan 21: The University Grants Commission has accorded recognition to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu.
The UGC recognition shall enable the University to get financial assistance for various research projects, post doctoral fellowships and other related grants under Section 12 B of UGC act, 1956.
The recognition has been accorded under Section 22 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The notification in this regard has been released by the UGC in favour of SKUAST-Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention that SKUAST-Jammu was established by amending the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Act in the year 1999 with the jurisdiction in Jammu division of Jammu & Kashmir State.
