JAMMU, Jan 22: While expressing serious concern over the callousness of the Government towards the problems of the displaced Pandits from Valley Sampooran Kashmiri Sangthan (SKS) today appealed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and DC Kupwara to intervene and restore the 12 kanals of land falling under Khasra No 2712/1882 in village Langate tehsil Handwara of North Kashmir district of Kupwara.
In a joint statement president SKS Rakesh Kaul and its secretary Bharat Kachroo said the land belonging to Kanya Lal Dhar and brothers, sons of late Shiv Ram Dhar and Pran Nath Dhar and brothers sons of Late Dhamodhar Dhar has been under the occupation of Mohd Shafi, Nazir Ahmed and Farooq Ahmed of Langate as they have encroached the said land for a pretty long time.
They said despite the repeated pleas to the revenue authorities they failed to restore the land which is a full grown orchard to its owners. The SKS leaders said that when the DCs are the custodians of migrant property why the Revenue authorities of Handwara failed to restore the orchard to the migrants who are leading an exiled life outside Valley.
They demanded immediate restoration of orchard to the migrant families failing which the activists of the organization will resort to agitation.
Meanwhile Samporan Kashmir extended full support to YAIKS agitation and demanded immediate absorption of 221 left out candidates under PM package.
It also expressed concern over curtailment of annual Amarnath pilgrimage to 48 days instead of 59 days and demanded that the order be revoked immediately.
It said the delegation of the organization has recently met Union Minster in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh in New Delhi and made an appeal to him that one time package to over aged youth against the loss suffered by them in 26 years of exile as well as traders and other displaced Pandit families be released at an earliest.
