SRINAGAR, May 8: The 25th Postgraduate Research Presentation Programme (PRPP) was inaugurated today at SKIMS auditorium here.
The event is organized by Department of Neurology SKIMS. Around 137 research papers will be presented during the two day event which was partly conducted through virtual mode due to the ongoing pandemic.
Dr Rouf Asmi, HOD Neurology and Organizing Chairman of the event welcomed the guests and expressed hope that the event will benefit young scholars.
Director SKIMS/Ex-officio Secretary to Government Dr. A.G Ahangar said the PRPP offers great learning platform to young researchers to present their research before experts.
“This annual event is a hallmark of SKIMS which has always prioritized research, the essence of this university of Medical Sciences,” he maintained appealing all to follow COVID SOPs to contain the disease.
He stressed on immunization of all SKIMS staff members and fellow colleagues and the whole population at large that is otherwise vulnerable to this pandemic.
Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS, Dr. Omar Javed Shah said the event has a great importance wherein young doctors/scholars showcase their research which eventually helps in better patient care and stressed that following ethics is nuances of research and young doctors must strive to follow them in spirit.
Former HOD Neurosurgery SKIMS & renowned neurosurgeon, Dr. Mohd Afzal Wani who was the guest of honour gave detailed presentation on Neurosurgery in Kashmir and shared his experiences.
Dr Samia Rashid, Principal GMC graced the occasion as chief guest and Prof. Mohd Maqbool Wani, Neurosurgery & Organizing Secretary of the event presented vote of thanks.
