JAMMU, July 14: Five days Value Added Skill Course in Basohli paintings and wheat grass artifacts concluded at Government College of Education Jammu under the patronage of its Principal Prof Aekta Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, she exhorted the students to come forward and establish their own start ups in making Basohli paintings which is now in high demand after getting GI tag. She also motivated the students to popularize bio-friendly artifacts like the traditional Binna, wheat grass baskets and other articles that can replace plastics.
During the five day workshop the students were trained by Resource Persons from Shilpkari Bazar Sanchaita Pradhan and her team.
Assistant Director Sonika Parihar from Department of Handicrafts was the chief guest on the occasion and she apprised the students about various Government schemes related to the promotion of artisans and skilled crafts personals.
The program was jointly organized by IQAC, WDC, IIC and NSS Unit of GCoE Jammu. The program was coordinated by Dr Shubhra Jamwal, NSS PO of the college.
Sohail Kazmi was the guest of honor on the occasion.
