JAMMU, Feb 1: The Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) has complimented the president of India Ram Nath Kovind for making an appeal to people asking them to make maximum use of indigenous goods before the release of the New Economic Survey 2020-21 on the eve of Union Budget.
Kashmiri Lal, national convener, Swadeshi Jagran Manch while talking to reporters here, today said Manch also appreciated the decision to block two hundred non-essential items and prohibit the import of three thousand un-categorized foreign goods as announced by Commerce Minister, Piyush Goyal.
While giving information about the important decisions taken in the Fourteenth National Conference of Manch held in Haridwar in December, last year, Kashmiri Lal said that the founder of many important organizations like(SJM) , Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), Dattopant Thengadhi’s 100th birth anniversary is being celebrated this year. In this connection seminars and conferences across the country about his thoughts will be held.
He said one such programme took place in a local Senior Secondary School today, in which he apprised the students and teachers of Dattopant Ji’s life and thoughts and also gave interesting tips to tackle the problem of unemployment through self-employment in the country.
He highlighted Dattopant Ji’s “concept of development” and said that Dattopant Ji was in favor of modernization but he called ‘modernization without Westernisation’.
“We should formulate an economic policy having the objective of development based on removal of poverty and not on the blind adoption of Western or foreign economic policies. Kashmiri Lal informed that it is the victory of Swadeshi Jagran Manch which pressurized the Government not to sign the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and called that the country and society should be knowing the consequences of signing RCEP. He termed it a positive development.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch is also working on measures to tackle the problem of unemployment among the youth in India and is motivating the youth for self employment, he said and highlighted various steps taken by the organization in this regard.
He said decline in export of China’s goods in India was also result of the campaigning of SJM which is giving main focus on promotion of domestic industry and skill development.
Prof Astosh J&K convener of the Manch said SJM is motivating children for establishment self employment oriented entrepreneurship. He said adaptation of Swadeshi Model of economy and development can rid the youth of depression. To promote this concept the Manch is introducing the first generation entrepreneurs with the children, he added.
He said SJM believes in modernization without Westernization which means someway between Capitalism and Socialism i.e a middle path.
