Six women injured in clash over land dispute

SAMBA, Oct 13: Six women were injured after the land grabbers tried to gab the land by installing poles in it belonging to them in village Chak Manga Rakwal in Samba district.
As the land grabbers installed the poles in the land the owners objected it strongly and tried to stop the land grabbers from occupying the land which belongs to them.  The encroachers’ however attacked them with sticks and rods inflicting injuries to six women.
After the episode the land grabbers fled from the spot leaving the injured in a pool of blood. One women as per reports is critical.
Protesting against the act, the owners of the land blocked the National Highway at Samba and raised slogans against the land mafia who attacked them as well as the Samba Police. DySP Hqr,Tanveer Ahmed and S.H.O Samba ,Yashpal Singh Jamwal reached on the spot and tried to pacify the protesters.
The critically  injured lady namely Raj W/o Chajju R/o Chak Manga Rakwal was shifted to the district hospital Samba for the treatment.
After that the Police team led by DySP, Hqr, Tanveer Ahmed , S.H.O Samba, Yashpal Singh Jamwal ,Tehsildar Samba , Naib Tehsildar, Samba reached the spot and assured the owners of the land that no one will be allowed to occupy their land and also demarcation of it will be given on October 16. They also assured them that the action will be taken against the accused under law.
Others who were injured included Rattno Devi , Geeta Devi, Sarishta Devi, Vyaso Devi, Sheela Devi.
