Six bovine animals rescued, 4 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, Mar 12: Police today rescued six bovine animals and arrested four smugglers in this connection at Manwal, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta in Udhampur district.
Based on reliable information, a Police party from PS Majalta, led by Insp Urfaan Parveez, under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar, Jagdev Singh Slathia, laid a naka for checking and frisking at Manwal. During naka checking, police intercepted one Tata Xenon pickup truck bearing registration number JK19-5361. During the search of said truck, six bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle.
Police rescued all the bovine animals and arrested driver Sameer Ahmed,  son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Banihal, Farooq Malik son of Abdul Aziz of Chamalwas Banihal, Mohd Rafiq son of Qasim of Qazigund, presently putting up at  Jaganoo Morh and Basharat, son of Miyan of Doru,  Anantnag, presently putting up at  Jaganoo Morh.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 15/2018 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta.
