Six arrested with Rs 3.09 lakh stake money

JAMMU, July 25: Police arrested six persons along with Rs 3.09 lakh stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team conducted raid at Sehora area of Gangyal police station jurisdiction and arrested six gamblers along with Rs 3.09 lakh stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ashok Singh, son of Sardar Singh of Bhori Talab Tillo, Saleem Ali, son of Kasim Din of Langer, Rasheed Ahmed, son of Makhan Din of Smailpur Bari Brahmana, Sanjay Singh, son of Bikham Singh of Bari Brahmana, Nazir Hussain, son of Shah Mohammad of Meen Chakaana and Swaran Singh, son of Shamsher Singh of Bari Brahmana.
On their personal search, police also recovered Rs 15,600.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered against them at police station Gangyal and investigation started.
Police team led by SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas along with SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali and Incharge Greater Kailash police post SI Vijay Sharma made the arrests.
SP South stated that the Jammu Police team is committed in its fight against organized crime and more raids will be conducted against different types of organized crimes whenever any actionable input is generated.
