JAMMU, Nov 9: A Special Investigating Team (SIT) constituted by the police authorities to look into the reasons behind firing on a temple at Trikuta Nagar recently has sent both the accused to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) for sustained questioning to ascertain whether they had any ulterior motives behind the firing.
Police said a decision to send both the accused to the JIC was taken by the SIT after their questioning.
The accused sent to the JIC today included Syed Shaad Bukhari son of Dr Mumtaz and Yasir Ahmed son of Shabir Ahmad Shah, both residents of Poonch. One of them had opened firing and a bullet had hit inside the temple.
The SIT has already taken both the accused on remand till November 12. The incident of firing had taken place on November 6.
The SIT comprised SP City (South) Rahul Malik, SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq, SHO Trikuta Nagar Inspector Naveen Angral and ASI Fazal Hussain.
