JAMMU, Aug 2: Body of a probationer Sub Inspector, posted at Bakshi Nagar police station, who was missing for past one week under mysterious circumstances, was recovered from Chenab river near Indo-Pak border on Pakistan side.
A police spokesman said that body of SI Sushil Khajuria, son of Krishan Lal of Shiv Nagar, was recovered from the forward post of Indo-Pak border near Gigdayal in Khour sector of Akhnoor tehsil.
SI Khajuria was posted at Bakshi Nagar police station and was missing since July 27.
The spokesman said the Pakistan army handed over the body of the SI to the Indian troops this morning. The body was later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for postmortem.
Police have registered a case to investigate reasons behind the death of the Sub Inspector. However, a foul play has been ruled out for the time being.
