Singers thrill Army troops

JAMMU, Aug 6: Prashant Naseri, famous Bollywood and Marathi playback singer, alongwith Indu Bala finalist of Indian Idol 2012, presently a renowned TV and Radio Artist of Jammu & Kashmir, accompanied by Sunil Sharma, thrilled packed Army audiences at Nagrota, Akhnoor and Rajouri from August 3-5.
It was the initiative taken by Vinod Sharma, an entrepreneur and music lover from Jammu who arranged the second such programme for the troops and families of White Knight Corps. It was in May last year when he held a music programme for troops.
Lieutenant General RR Nimbhorkar, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps thanked Vinod Sharma, Prashant Naseri and other performers for having come and perform for the troops of White Knight Corps.
The General Officer also presented mementos to all the artists, musicians and technicians of the show.
The programme started with the Song “Yeh Sama, Sama Hai Yeh Pyar Ka” by Indu Bala and concluded with ‘Rang De Basanti’ under the able guidance of the Anchor Kusum. The audience was marvelled with music of yester years, “Oh Hansini”, “Pal Bhar Ke Hume Pyar Kar Le”, “Pukar Tha Chala Hun Main”, “Ek Chatur Nar” and Marathi number “Zingaat from movie Sairaat”.
Prashant Naseri thanked Army for guarding the borders to keep the motherland safe and on behalf of his fans worldwide and followers on facebook, he expressed gratitude for giving him the opportunity to perform for the troops of the Nation. The group received a standing ovation at all the places.
Musicians who made the shows possible; were Sanjay Pashi on Head Guitar, Lucky Jasotra on Tabla, DK on Base Guitar and Rajeev Kumar on Dholak. The show technician was Happy who made it all possible.
