JAMMU, Feb 15: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) today said that simplifying norms to set up new industrial units by the LG’s Administration is a good step for the growth of Industry in J&K UT.
While chairing the meeting of the office bearers namely- Anil Gupta senior vice president Rajeev Gupta, junior vice president, Gaurav Gupta, secretary general, Rajesh Gupta- secretary and Rajesh Gupta- treasurer, Chamber chief Arun Gupta welcomed the announcement made by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to simplify the norms for establishing new Industrial Units in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The prerequisite NOCs / approval have been relaxed for setting up of a business unit in UT of J&K. As per the announcement the Udyog Aadhar Memorandum as per the condition of the Government of India shall be the only requirement for a business unit to be setup.
Earlier 15 NOCs/Clearances were required for setting up of Industrial units in J&K which have now been reduced to a bare minimum and now only 3 NOCs which includes land use change by Revenue department, Pollution Control Board and Fire and Emergency Department.
Arun Gupta said the decisions which were taken by the Administrative Council under the Chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor for simplifying business establishment process will boost the morale of the investors to invest in J&K and it will improve the ranking of J&K index in ease of doing business.
These ambitious structural announced reforms will provide not only level play field but also hassle-free atmosphere to the investors within and outside of J&K, the Chamber president added.
He appreciated the efforts of the UT administration and requested the LG, Manoj Sinha to reconsider the long pending demand of ownership / free hold rights to the existing industrialists so that they could have sense of belongings and security.
Gupta also appreciated the J&K Police for averting a major terror attack at General Bus Stand Jammu due to which many precious lives were saved by apprehending four militants including a student.
