Silver moves up 0.30 per cent in futures trade

NEW DELHI, Jan 21: Taking positive cues from the global markets, silver rose by 0.30 per cent to Rs 60,891 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May rose by Rs 185, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 60,891 per kg in business turnover of 110 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in the March was up by Rs 162, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 59,540 per kg in 2,196 lots.
Market analysts attributed gains in silver prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the global markets on expectations for more stimulus while US lawmakers wrangle over the debt limit.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.80 per cent to 32.11 an ounce in Singapore today. (PTI)
