NEW DELHI, Feb 11: Silver prices edged higher by Rs 180 to Rs 44,850 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions on firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March traded higher by Rs 180, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 44,850 per kg in a business turnover of 532 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in May contract traded higher by Rs 142, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 45,728 per kg in 67 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators buoyed by a firming trend in the precious metals overseas mainly pushed up silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver added 0.70 per cent to USD 20.21 an ounce in Singapore. (AGENCIES)
