NEW DELHI, Jan 10: Silver prices moved down by 0.36 per cent to Rs 43,963 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits even as the precious metals rose in the global market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March moved down by Rs 161, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 43,963 per kg in a business turnover of 855 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 138, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 44,950 per kg in 14 lots.
Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators mainly put pressure on silver prices at futures trade but gains in gold and silver in the overseas market, restricted the fall.
Meanwhile, silver gained 0.40 per cent to USD 19.65 an ounce in Singapore today. (AGENCIES)
