Silk India 16-day exhibition begins at Kala Kendra

JAMMU, Feb 8: As the marriage season is on, Hastashilpi is presenting pure and probable silk products at Silk India, an exhibition-cum-sale at Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, Jammu.
The 16-day exhibition began today with a huge number of lovers of silk products thronging the site. Various silk saree weavers, handloom clusters and silk co-operative societies are showcasing their products in the exhibition.
“The objective behind the exhibition is to make quality silk products accessible a directly to the customers, without the moderator to the weavers and artisans, ”said Hastashilpi organizer T Abhinand. He said a variety of silk products including Arini, Crepe & Georgette, Chiffon, Tassar, Kanjeevaram and wedding sarees are on display in the exhibition.

Besides these, he said designer fancy sarees, Darmavaram silk sarees, Raw silk and Tassar, Jute silk sarees, Dhaka silk saris, Handloom silk cotton sarees, silk blends sarees & stole, silk shawls, uppada, Gadwal, Paithani sarees, Manga-lagiri & Pochampalli silk sarees and many more products are being showcased in this silk expo.
“The products on display also include hand block print sarees, suit & silk bed covers, designer dress materials and border, lazes, kurtis, hand woven matka & Assam Muga fabrics, Apoorva silk sarees, Baluchari, Dhaka Masli, Gicha sarees, boutique sarees, Kantha sarees, Zordoshi, Lucknow chikan work sarees, Bhagalpur suits, printed silk sarees, Banarasi sarees, reshmi plain and Butti sarees, Maheswari, Chanderi silk saris & suit and Kota silk, Mulberry silk with temple border, Banaras Jamdani, hand-woven sarees,” Abhinand added.
