JAMMU, June 2: All J&K 1947 PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum (SIF) expressed their anguish over the cold blooded murder of Jammu based driver Ravinder Singh, S/o S. Deva Singh of village Simbal.
The Forum in an emergency meeting of its Core Committee under the chairmanship of Adv Amrik Singh and Surjit.Singh its general secretary demanded a Judicial enquiry into the matter and compensation of Rs five lakh to the bereaved family. The Forum elaborated that since the escalation of peak militancy in Kashmir Valley the transporters continued their supply of essential and non essential commodities to Valley without any fail. They further said that this is not the only murder of tanker driver but till date more than 20 innocent drivers and cleaners have been massacred by the unidentified terrorists but in this regard till date no one has been punished for these heinous crimes.
The Forum took this issue of barbaric act very seriously and warned that if such type of incidents continue in future the transport industry will be compelled to take some harsh decisions of stopping supply especially to Kashmir Valley. The members of the Forum also demand proper security to the transporters.
