Sikh bodies allege discrimination

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 10: Various Sikh bodies including Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), United Sikh Council, Sikh Intellectuals Circle, International Sikh Federation and Sikh Students Federation have alleged that Sikhs were facing discrimination in the State.
In a joint statement members of these organizations- Jaspal Singh Mangal, Narinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, Surinder Singh Wazir, Ajit Singh Mastana, Bhai Ram Singh, Manmohan Singh, Bikram Singh and others alleged that Sikhs are not being provided justice. They are feeling ignored by the respective Governments. The Government has failed to address the genuine political, social, economic grievances of the minority community Sikhs.
They further alleged that RSS and several other anti-Sikh forces were interfering in the religious and political affairs of the Sikhs which is unacceptable. They wanted to make Ansari Commission Report public and provide justice to the families of the victims of anti-Sikh riots of Talwara in Reasi and also in Jammu during 1989.
