Sidhu enthralls voters in old city

KHANYAR-SRINAGAR, Dec 10: Former Indian cricketer and Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) leader, Navjot Singh Sidhu today enthralled BJP rally after he delivered an electrifying speech in old city here.
Sidhu criticized local political parties for their failure to deliver on ground in such an expression that people applauded for his every word.
While addressing BJP’s maiden rally in down town, Sidhu held the National Conference (NC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Congress responsible for lack of development in Kashmir.
“NC, PDP and Congress failed to develop the State and left it underdeveloped despite ruling from last 67 years,” Sidhu, a former Member of Parliament from Amritsar, said while addressing an election rally in Khanyar area in support of party candidate Ashok Bhatt.
People were waiting for a long time to have the glimpse of Sidhu and listen to his enthralling speech. “It is always refreshing to hear commentary by Navjot Singh Sidhu. He has been as electric in the BJP rally here as he remains in commentary room,” Ishtiyaq Ahmad, an old city youth said.
While the Sidhu was delivering lecture in poetic expressions, the enthralled party workers started shouting slogans of “Modi”, “Modi”.
The BJP star campaigner said that the residents of Jammu and Kashmir would see a new era of development if BJP is given a chance to form the Government in the State.
“If BJP is voted to power in the State it would bring in a new era of development in the Kashmir, which other parties failed to do in last six decades,” he said.
The BJP leaders said people want complete freedom from corruption, injustice and high handedness. “BJP wants freedom from NC, PDP and Congress in the ongoing State Assembly elections to ensure development of the State, with the full support of people here,” he said.
Singh said due to the BJP’s pro-people policies people are joining the party enmasse. “Youth want change for their better prospects, which only BJP will facilitate them,” he said.
He appealed people to support BJP in ongoing elections to give a chance to Narendra Modi led Government to rebuilt and bring prosperity in the State.
