JAMMU, Sept 2: Inhabitants of Sidhra are facing acute shortage of water for last twenty-five days, that too at a time when mercury in Jammu is soaring high.
The residents of the area who visited the Excelsior office here today, alleged that they were suffering with severe water shortage for last twenty-five days .
“We have not taken bath for last many days and are bound to wear dirty clothes, as there is no water in our houses even to wash a handkerchief,” they said.
They further alleged that the PHE & PDD officials were shifting responsibility for no water supply. They explained that the area is effected with irregular electric supply because of illegal connection which has effected the water supply.
Inhabitants have told the concerned authorities to immediately restore regular water supply or face agitational path.
Meanwhile, the officials in PHE have assured that the supply of water shall be restored within a day or two. The officials of PDD have also assured that transformer shall be replaced/repaired or needful shall be done without delay.
