KATRA, Aug 26: In view of cancellation of number of trains from Katra to different States due to prevailing disturbance in Haryana and Punjab, a huge number of yatris have been stranded at Railway Station, Katra.
Jitendra Kumar Singh, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board held telephonic consultations with Governor N.N.Vohra, Chairman Shrine Board, and took immediate action to set up a temporary langar facility at the Katra Railway Station from today afternoon.
Around 3000 pilgrims were provided free lunch and dinner today. The Railway and Police authorities have also provided full support in this endeavour
The Chief Executive Officer informed that a decision to continue the langar shall be taken tonight after the Railway Board announces the resumption of train services.
The stranded yatris have thanked the Shrine Board for providing free food facilities when they were in trouble.
