JAMMU, Feb 19: A 10-day short course on “Entrepreneurship and Startup Opportunities in Entomology”, organized by the Division of Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) was inaugurated here today.
The event, sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), commenced with great enthusiasm as participants from across the country gathered to explore the emerging opportunities in the field of entomology. The inaugural ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Vice Chancellor, Professor B N Tripathi, Director of Research, Dr S K Gupta, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Anil Sharma and Head of the Department, Division of Entomology, Dr R K Gupta.
The VC, Professor B N Tripathi, in his keynote address, lauded the initiative and commended the efforts of the Division of Entomology and ICAR for organizing this timely and impactful program.
He urged participants to leverage the knowledge gained during the course to create innovative and scalable ventures in the field of entomology.
Director of Research, Dr S K Gupta in his address, underscored the significance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between research and practical applications.
He encouraged participants to explore entrepreneurial opportunities and contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Anil Sharma emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of agricultural sciences.
The inaugural session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the Head of the Department, Division of Entomology, Dr R K Gupta.
This initiative by SKUAST-J, in collaboration with ICAR, is a significant step toward promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in agricultural sciences, particularly in the specialized domain of entomology.
