A large number of shopkeepers and residents assembled at Jain Bazaar and held protest against dilapidated condition of road. The protestors raised slogans against Jammu Municipal Corporation for ignoring their grave issue.
While talking to the reporters, one of the protestors said that the road in Jain Bazaar area is in dilapidated condition since long and no one from the administration including JMC is taking any initiative to get the road repaired.
“Today, a stone damaged the glass of a jewellery shop. There were customers at the time of the incident”, he said and questioned that who will be held responsible if the stone had caused any injuries to the customers or the shopkeeper.
Several times the issue was taken up with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation, but only fake assurances were made by them, the protestors said.
