Shoba Yatra of Bhagwan Krishan to be taken out on August 16

JAMMU, Aug 11: Ahead of Krishan Janamashtmi, which is falling on coming Sunday, Shoba Yatra of Lord Krishana would be taken out with religious fanfare from Parade Ground, Geeta Bhawan, Jammu, on Saturday, August 16.
This was disclosed by president of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Jammu Province, Jagdish Dogra while briefing the media persons here today.
Giving details about the religious event, he said Additional DC, Kalyan Singh Parihar will be the chief guest while Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal, will be guest of honour.
Dogra said that the event will start with Pooja-archana of Bhagwan Krishan at about 3.30 pm at Parade Ground, Geeta Bhawan. Thereafter at about 4 pm both the guests will flag off the Shoba Yatra amid chanting of religious slogans by the devotees, he added.
He said the Yatra will start from Parade Ground and after passing through Shalamar Road, Indira Chowk and Hari Market will reach ancient Raghunath Temple, where after poojan and performing other religious rituals, the Shoba Yatra along with jhankies will proceed to its onward journey.
After passing through main bazaars of Jammu City including Shaheedi Chowk, Rajinder Bazaar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Panjtirthi, Mubarak Mandi, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Parade, Shalamar Road and Indira Chowk, the Yatra will conclude again at Raghunath Temple, he added.
General secretary of the Sabha, Parvat Singh and vice-president, Jagdish Singh, who were also present have asked all the devotees to participate in the Shoba Yatra in large numbers and seek the blessings of Bhagwan Krishan.
