Shiv Sena activists take out candle light march

JAMMU, Apr 16: Demanding CBI probe into the Kathua rape and murder case, Shiv Sena ( Bal Thackeray) J&K unit today took out candle light march here this evening.
The procession was led by working president Ashwani Gupta along with other senior leaders including Rajiv Bhandari, Nath Pal Choudhary  and Rakesh Kak. The Sena activists were demanding  fair justice for the victim’s family and said that people have trust only on CBI probe.
While addressing the gathering, Ashwani Gupta said that case should be handed over to CBI for free and fair probe as the people of the area do not have faith  on the Crime Branch team from Kashmir In this already three times SIT was changed by state police authorities. It has now become a controversial case.  He said the culprits should not be spared and deserve severest punishment.
He pointed out that some anti-national and anti-social elements were exploiting the situation and sentiments of the people. No society will ever support the culprits of such a heinous crime. He warned some political parties to stay away and not be play politics on the dead body of innocent-8-year-old girl.  He also condemned the role played by Kashmir media and selective national media by distorting facts and said it is unfortunate that national media also became part of Kashmir propaganda and painted wrong picture projecting that people of Kathua were shielding criminals. They condemned the role of such media for wrong  reporting. He said Press Council of India must take cognizance of the matter.
