KATHUA, Sept 16: The irate residents of Shiv Nagar Kali Bari near here, blocked the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway for one hour from 6pm to 7pm this evening in protest against breakdown of transformer in the area.
The protestors alleged that power supply in the area has been affected for over two days and entire area is facing total blackout as the authorities failed to restore the transformer. They also alleged the low voltage problem in the area and said they were left with no alternative but to come on streets.
Later, AEE PDD and concerned SHO visited the area and assured the protestors that the transformer will be installed by tomorrow and on this assurance people dispersed and traffic was restored on National Highway.
