I would like to request President J&K Dharmarth Trust and Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC) to re- start Shiv Barat Yatra from Jammu to Mantalai as per past practice. It is pertinent to mention that Shiv Barat Yatra used to be taken from Jammu to Mantalai some years ago and was widely appreciated and it became a religious movement in the area enroute from Jammu to Mantalai. Legends say that Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati at Mantalai and till today the unexplored Archaeological sites at Mantalai are witness to those Holy events. The Shiv Barat on its original route from Jammu made records of public participation and it was received at Chenani, Sudhmahadev and Mantalai by all sections of the society. The tourism of the area and the public faith got encouragement from this Shiv Barat and there was Mela like celebrations everywhere. Due to some reasons the yatra was stopped to Mantalai.
It is requested to all concerned authorities to re-start Shiv Barat to Mantalai keeping in view the sentiments of public on the holy occasion of Maha Shiv Ratri.
