JAMMU, Nov 18: Congress candidate from Jammu West S Surinder Singh Shingari conducted door- to- door campaign in several city’s western localities and sought support of the people in the Assembly elections.
Accompanied by several party leaders and his supporters Shingari visited Krishna Nagar, parts of Bakshi Nagar and other adjoining areas and appealed the public to vote in his favour. He also assured the people to serve them with dedication during full term if he is elected to State Assembly. The residents welcomed Shingari and gave rousing reception at some places.
In the afternoon, A large number of youth from Gole Gujral, Christian Colony and Dogra Hall area accorded warm welcome to Shingari and accorded him full support. They said that Mr Shangari being very gentle, humble and down to earth person is not a politician but a social worker. He has earned good respect among the masses and is always ready to help anybody from any community or religion. Therefore, they have resolved to support Shingari and ensure his victory in the elections.
In yet another public meeting organised at Tope Sherkhanian by the local ex-corporator this evening, a large number of people accorded unconditional support to the Congress candidate. He was profusely garlanded and offered support. Prominent among those who accompanied Shingari included Sanjeev Kohli, Jatinder Paul, Roopinder Singh, P S Chouhan, Arun Chib, M L Saraf and Gurvinder Singh.
