Shia community holds protest, condemns attack on shrine, Iranian Parliament

LEH, June 9: Soon after the Friday prayers, a large number of Shia Community Muslims took out a protest rally here today.
The rally was organized by Anjuman-e-Imamiya Leh to condemn the terrorist attack on the holy Shrine of Imam Khomeini (RA) and Iranian Parliament on 7th June which resulted in death of 12 innocents. Condemning the attack on Iran, they raised slogan against ISIS and Dayeesh.
Addressing the gathering at main Bazar, Anjuman Imamiya president, Ashraf Ali Barcha, said this attack is not only on a particular religion but on entire world as Imam Khomeini gave the message of love, peace and unity in the world and attackers are against the peace and unity.
He said if we collectively don’t fight against such attackers then they will continue to kill innocent people in future. He added that terrorist works on Wahbis ideology to spread terrorism in the world. He expressed hope that Government of India is alert enough to check such agents in India.
Condemning the Hurriyat leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani’s statement of suspecting Iran hand in terrorist activities, Asharf demanded to prove it otherwise J&K Government must take action on Geelani for hurting the sentiment of Shia community. He urged the State Chief Minister to take action on him for such baseless statement.
Majlis-e-Ulma Leh president, Sheikh Nazir Ahmad, also addressed the gathering and condemned the attack. Asharf also expressed his surprise over South Arabia’s million dollars Arms deal with America and questioned who the enemy of South Arabia was and why they needed so much of weapons. “Such arms must be going into the hands of terrorist to carry out terrorist activity in the world which must be checked”, said Ashraf.
Later, the protestors served a memorandum to Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Moses Kunzang, to express their anguish to Government of India.
Anjuman Imamia Youth Wing president, Muzaffar Hussian Barcha and number of Ulmas were also present during the protest.
