SRINAGAR, May 19: Senior most camera person of Kashmir valley, Sheikh Tariq of New Delhi Television was today elected as president of the Video Journalist Association (KVJA).
The fresh elections of the Association were held today with Tariq securing 25 votes. Tariq Lone of TV Today network was elected as vice president, Fayaz Ahmad Latha of Asia News International (ANI) was elected as General Secretary and Arshad Hussain of ABP News was elected as treasurer of Association.
Tariq assured his colleagues that he will take up the issues relating the Video Journalists at proper fora. He said that the media persons are facing lot of hardships in covering events in conflict zone of Kashmir and they need to be united to face such challenges.
