JAMMU, Apr 18: Giving a strong message to the concerned officers of the state government not to fiddle with the legitimate scholarship of students belonging to Schedule Tribe and Pahari community, Dr Shazad Malik, a renowned educationist and social activist asked the Union and State Government to ensure timely release of all the scholarship dues.
He said that students belonging to under privileged class were totally dependent upon the Government scholarships but it was unfortunate that the Babus sitting in the air conditioned chambers of Civil Secretariat take least interest in ensuing timely release of students’ dues thus putting them in dilemma. Accusing the Government officers of being rude towards the plight of gullible students, Shazad said the they should explain the delay in releasing the scholarship amount to students.
He urged upon the Governor and his Advisors to intervene in this serious issue concerning the future of thousands of poor students belonging to ST and Pahari community and avoid any possible confrontation.
