JAMMU, Oct 11: All J&K PoJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Paramjit Singh, Ex Corporpator and vice president of the Forum has reiterated the demand of payment of balance exgratia in favour of DPs of 1947, 1965 and 1971 for their one time settlement at the earliest.
The meeting while paying its gratitude to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and NDA Government for releasing Rs 5.50 lakh compensation in favour of 5300 families of PoJK DPs of 1947 who were residing outside the J&K and show family strength was 5300 in year 1053 demanded payment of Rs 25 lakh as the balance compensation in favour of DPs.
Surjit Singh, general secretary of the Forum while addressing the meeting has made an appeal to Prime Minister of India as well as Defence Minister and Home Minister to liberate PoJK from clutches of Pakistan as it is the part of India. The meeting also complimented Sukhbir Singh Badal, president Shiromani Akali Dal and Majinder Singh Sirsa , president PoJK refugees for their role in getting the ex-gratia released for the 5300 families. The meeting was also attended by Amrik Singh, advocate through video conferencing from New Zealand. He said the payment of compensation to these families was a long pending demand and PM deserves all appreciation for the same.
Parmajit Singh termed it a bold step taken by Prime Minister for the welfare of left over refugees and he expressed the hope that the remaining problems of refugees will also be solved.
The meeting among others was attended by Jarnail Singh Khalsa, president Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Samba, K D Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Paramjet Singh Shingari, Master Bhajan Singh, Khazan Singh, Mohinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh Kuku, Sukhpreet Singh, J P Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Jagjit Singh, publicity secretary of the Forum and others.
