JAMMU, Nov 17: All J&K PoJK Sharanarthi Intellectuals Forum (SIF) while highlighting the role of their organization said they are dedicated to the cause of PoJK refugees and members of Sikh community.
Addressing a function organized by the Forum here, today its general secretary, S Surjeet Singh said that the Forum has pleaded the refugees cause before Union Government, Ministry of Home Affairs , State Governor and advisors of Governor and demanded one time settlement of Rs 30 lakh per refugee family as has been already recommended by the State Government.
He said the Forum also pleaded the community cause before the SGMC of Delhi and SGPC Amritsar respectively. Maintaining that the Forum is not allied with any political party or any political group he said its vision is clear to serve the people in general and fight for the cause of PoJK refugees of 1947 who till date have been deprived of justice.
S Harpal Singh vice president, J&K Minority Morcha sought the cooperation of all in strengthening the Morcha to fight for the cause of community.
S Fateh Singh general secretary, DGPC urged all to follow the teachings of Gurus in every sphere of life by sinking the differences.
Others who spoke included Paramjeet Singh, vice president of the Forum, Jarnail Sing Khalsa, general secretary of the DGPC Samba, Fateh Singh general secretary, DGPC, Jammu.
The function was attended by newly elected corporators of Sikh community and the issues facing the refugees of 1947 as well Sikh community were also discussed with them threadbare.
