RAJOURI, Aug 27: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) in a meeting at Lamberi, tehsil Nowshera, expressed their deep concern and flayed the administration for its failure to streamline the erratic disbursement process of PM relief package to DPs, despite several assurances, causing desperation and resentment among them, which has given space to vested interests to mislead and exploit the DPs.
The meeting urged upon the administration to adopt corrective measures to expedite the disbursement of package serial-wise as per the list appeared in the net.
While apprising the DPs about the erratic/random cash relief disbursement, Gurdev Singh President alongwith Netar Parkash General Secretary condemned the Government for making inordinate delay in the whole process of disbursement. He asked the DPs to focus their attention for getting implemented recommendations of Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) recommending Rs 30 lakh for each DP family along with other components particularly reservation for their wards in Government services and institutions. He asked the DPs of 1947 from POK to get ready for a decisive battle to achieve the goal of their one time legitimate settlement issue which has been delayed by all the dispensations of the State.
He further said that to sanction a relief of Rs 5.5 lakh to each DP family as one time settlement is a cruel joke particularly with the DPs of 1947 from POK. The irony is that facts regarding the rehabilitation of DPs have always being concealed and distorted by the State Government and the claim made by the Govt in this regard are quite away from truth and ground realities particularly regarding the DPs of 1947 from POK.
Persons who spoke in the meeting were Sub Naresh Kumar (Lambheri), Yograj Raina (Kalakote), Avinash Singh, Babu Ram (Sunderbani) and Ramji Dass (Retd. Inspector, Lambheri).
