Sharma’s concern over power, water crisis

JAMMU, June 9: Lambasting State Government for its failure to solve day to-day problems of the common masses, general secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Yash Pal Sharma, MLC today said that miseries of the people have increased manifold after formation of National Conference (NC) led regime in the State.
Addressing meeting of party workers at party office here, Mr Sharma expressed his concern over unprecedented water and power crises that has gripped the State especially Jammu region during scorching heat. He said that entire Jammu region has been facing scarcity of drinking water but the state Government is adopting casual approach towards this unending problem. He warned that PDP would not remain a mute spectator and party would launch a mass movement to force the non-serious government to take some steps to improve water and power situation in Jammu region.
Pointing towards power crises in the State in general and Jammu region in particular, Mr Sharma said that when temperature is hovering over 45 to 47 degree Celsius, unscheduled power cuts has become a routine affair which is adding to the people’s miseries.
He said that State has been plunged into unprecedented crises due to wrong policies of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who has failed to connect himself with the people. He said that during the last nearly six years this regime has done nothing to solve problems of the people. “What to say to mitigating woes of the masses, this regime has further compounded miseries of the people due to its wrong policies”, he pointed out and added this regime has proved total failure.
While expressing his grave concern over mounting problems of the common masses, he said that due to its misdeed and mis-governance this regime has lost its credibility.
