He spent the day in Shopian and met several delegations comprising representatives, among others, of passenger vehicle drivers, SC/ST communities and family members of a policeman killed in militant attack.
He said that his meetings went fine. “I met around 18-20 delegations. I am next going to Anantnag and Kulgam,” he told reporters.
Sharma also went to Anantnag and met some delegations. He is meeting more delegations on Friday. A youth delegation led by senior political and social activist Imran Amin Shah met the interlocutor at Dak Banglow today.
The youth delegation appraised the Interlocutor about the problems and constraints faced by youth and urged him to convince central leadership for engagement of all stakeholders to address the long pending issue of the State. They also urged for concrete initiative for return of power projects to resolve power crises and revenue generation including vacation of army from high ground Anantnag to be used for establishment of some industrial or educational institution in the area.
Sharma gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured every possible support from the centre to bring Anantnag on the peace and  developmental arena.
He said that Central Government is serious to address severe power crises in the State and for this he himself has persuaded and convinced Union Power Minister. He also said that Centre is persuing the modalities to vacate Army from High Ground and is serious to establish an industrial area at the place.
Sharma also said that Centre is keen to address the unemployment issue in the state and will soon come up with a special and holistic roadmap. He urged youth to become the part for establishing peace in the State and take part for its overall development.
Sharma has been undertaking a series of visits across the State and meeting cross-sections of people, in an attempt to conduct a sustained dialogue.
Last November, Sharma had toured some parts of South Kashmir.
