Shariq’s moveable property increases by 1500%

Srinagar, Apr 16: The National Conference leader Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, who filed his nomination papers from Baramulla today, has shown net worth of Rs 3.2 crore with his moveable property growing by 1500 percent since 2009.
Since 2009, Shariq’s moveable property has grown from Rs 6.25 lakhs to Rs 91.3 lakhs.
Shariq’s affidavit suggests that he has movable assets worth Rs 1.02 crore which includes Rs 50, 000 cash in hand, Rs 77.37 lakh in FDR’s, savings worth Rs 13. 9 lakh, Scorpio car worth Rs 7.35 lakh and Wagon-R worth Rs 4 lakh. He also has Rs 5 lakh as liability. His net moveable property is Rs 97.6 lakh.
Details suggest that he owns immovable assets worth Rs 2 crores. It includes Rs 50 lakh worth agricultural land, residential houses at Kupwara and Rawalpora worth Rs 1.5 crores.
His 2009 affidavit reveals that he had Rs 19.35 lakh as moveable property which included cash of Rs 20, 000, bank deposits amounting to Rs 12 lakh and Scorpio car worth Rs 7.35 lakh. He had a loan of Rs 13.1 lakh in 2009. His net moveable property in 2009 was Rs 6.25 lakh.
The 2009 affidavit further reveals that he had immovable property worth Rs 90 lakh which includes orchard land worth Rs 40 lakh and two houses one each in Kupwara and Srinagar worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 40 lakh respectively.
Congress candidate from Ladakh, Tsering Samphel also has moveable and immovable assets running into over Rs 1 crore.
In his property statement filed along with nomination papers yesterday, Mr Samphel has declared his immovable assets worth Rs 65.30 lakh and that of his wife to the tune of Rs 37 lakh.
The Congress candidate has cash and other investments to the tune of Rs 17.16 lakh while his spouse has movable assets worth Rs 1.04 lakh.
Mr Samphel has two saving bank accounts at New Delhi—one with Syndicate Bank and another with J&K Bank at Prithvi Raj Road. He has two bank accounts in Leh—one with J&K Bank and another with SBI. He was also in possession of a tipper No. 9031 JK10 worth Rs 15 lakh.
The Congress leader’s wife has five kanals 17 marlas agriculture land worth Rs 10 lakh while Mr Samphel has 59 kanals 5 marlas non-agriculture land in Leh, a plot measuring 60×90 at Jammu and Rs 20 lakh worth plot at Jammu. He has another commercial building near AIR Leh measuring eight marlas.
The People’s Conference leader Salamuddin Bajad who also filed his nomination papers from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency today declared his immovable and moveable assets worth Rs Rs 1.35 crores.
Bajad’s affidavit suggests that he has Rs 42.75 lakh worth moveable assets. While the moveable asset of his wife are worth Rs 16.5 lakh.
Details suggest that he owns house in Sidhra Jammu worth Rs 32.94 lakh. His wife owns a house at Sanat Nagar worth Rs 44 lakh.
Syed Rafiq Shah of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party has moveable property amounting to Rs 1.15 lakh which includes Rs 30, 000 cash and Rs 85, 000 as bank deposits. He has immovable property worth Rs 14 lakh including land and house.
