POONCH, Mar 16: On the second day of his tour in Poonch district as a part of Akhand Bharat Yatra of 52 pilgrimages, Govardhanpuri Peethadhishwar Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Adhokshajanand Dev Teerth Ji Maharaj 12 Jyotirlinga offered prayers and Jal Abhishek at Navagraha Temple in Poonch on Thursday.
Hundreds of devotees and local people of different faiths accompanied Shankaracharya Ji during his visit to the temple and sought his blessings.
Earlier, in the morning, Adhokshajanand Dev Teerth Ji Maharaj visited Jhullas and Salotri villages located adjacent to Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and performed Rudrabhishek in a local temple.
Later, in the evening, Shankaracharya visited the famous Dashnami Akhara, which is a symbol of communal harmony and tranquility, in Poonch area.
The members of Dashnami Akhara committed arranged grand reception for Shankaracharya Shri Adhokshajanand Ji and paid gratitude for his visit to the border district Poonch.
He delivered sermons to the devotees and hailed the people of the district for always standing tall during cross-border firing and other militancy-related incidents by anti-national elements. Swami Ji stressed that one should devote time for self-estimation so that he can lead on the way to Dharma. “Whole India is full of divinity and spirituality which itself guides us on the right path of life”, Swami Ji asserted.
Dashnami Akhara Committee was represented by Basant Ram Sharma (President Akhara), Khaterpaul Sharma (President Sanatan Sabha Poonch), Rohit Sharma (General secretary Dashnami Akhara), Mohinder Pyasa, Sanjay Raina, Amarnath Sharma, Bhushan Bhalla, Lakshmi Chand Shastri, Lek Raj Dutta, Ronik Sharma and Sangeeta Puri.
Pertinently, Jagatguru Shankaracharya is on a week-long tour of Jammu and Kashmir where he is meeting people living in border areas, also visiting various religious places.
