Sir,
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in his tweet has termed the behaviour of the elected representatives of J&K on 11th of Feb 2014 to be shameful. When the elected representatives protest in such an unbecoming manner what message do they wish to convey to the electorate to follow? How public should raise their legitimate demands or protest against injustice for such arbitrary actions of the ruling party? All political parties are devising their strategy with an eye on the forthcoming elections. Their only purposes is to befool the public to vote in their favour once again so that they can enjoy fruits of power by becoming MLAs and ministers. Both the ruling parties and opposition are eager to gain power by whatever means it comes. They don’t have the decency of behaviour and have to learn a lot about good manners and elementary etiquette.
Leaders just talk of welfare of masses and resort to such populous measures as creating new administrative units at the time of elections to reap electoral gains. It is sheer partisan attitude and arbitrariness of the ruling party and cabinet sub-committee headed by the Deputy Chief Minister to ignore deserving areas for new administrative units and recommend more units for the undeserving onces on political considerations. Such an approach is not conducive for strengthening faith in the Government and democracy. Things won’t improve unless the public understand the power game of politicians and then a lesson to rise above party politics on such vital issues and work for the welfare of the masses by practising principles of good governance based on ethics, morality, equality and good conduct.
Yours etc….
