SRINAGAR, Oct 9: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of flood affected areas along river Jhelum to take stock of the restoration works.
Starting by boat from Zero bridge, the Minister inspected the flood damages and repair works undertaken by the Department at several spots along the banks of river upto Pantha Chowk. He directed the accompanying engineers to speed up the restoration works and plugging the cuts and breaches. He directed the Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control to personally supervise the restoration works in the affected areas to provide immediate succor to the people.
Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control, Mir Javed Jaffer and other concerned engineers accompanied the Minister.
