Sham inaugurates Rs 1.09 cr floriculture park

AKHNOOR, Dec 24: Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma, today inaugurated a floriculture park constructed with a cost of Rs. 1.09 crore at village Bhalwal Brahmana.
Addressing a large gathering of locals after inaugurating the park, the Minister said that Government is giving focused attention to create durable infrastructural facilities in all vital sectors during the past four years which is being acknowledged by the people. He asked the people to take care of all public utilities created by the Government for their own conveneince.
He urged the locals to help maintain the beautiful park saying that this will be further upgraded. The park will become center of attraction for thousands of people of adjoining villages. This is the best wayside facility for the people who are coming from Jammu and moving towards Khour-Kleeth-Dori Dager etc.
On the occasion, he announced that a similar park will be developed at village Sohal-Tanda which is a long pending demand of the people.
Announcing some other sops for the locals, the Minister said a tube-well will be established exclusively for the Bhalwal village. He also announced three rooms additional accommodation and boundary wall for local Government High School besides announcing construction of Kanger-Kodewala road. He assured that a Niabat will also be set up in the area soon.
To create irrigational facilities in Kandi belt of Akhnoor, the Minster said that Government has submitted a comprehensive proposal for construction of 18 special tube-wells to the Central Government for funding. With the construction of these tube-wells, the socio-economic profile of the people of this dry and backward belt will change substantially, the Minister maintained.
Later, Sham inspected the flower show organised by the local farmers in which several varieties of marigold flowers being cultivated in the area were displayed.
The Minister also inspected the on-going work on the building of Primary Health Centre at Bhalwal Brahmana. He directed the officers to speed up the pace of work and complete the work strictly as per the approved specifications.
