JAMMU, Oct 11: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma on Saturday inaugurated computerization under banking solutions of the Citizen Cooperative Bank’s Branch at Akhnoor. This is the first bank’s branch in Akhnoor and 15 in the Jammu division.
Addressing consumers and officials as well as locals after inaugurating the Citizen Cooperative Branch, Sham said that the Government is committed to provide every possible marketing support to the bankers of the State. He said bankers are bulwark of State’s economy and provide significant succor to the development process and generation of employment for a large chunk of population directly and indirectly.
Appreciating the efforts of banks for making new strides in strengthening the sector and ensuring welfare of the consumes, stakeholders and farmers, the Minister emphasized the need of increasing more branches in hilly and far flung areas of the State. He asked the concerned to create awareness about the viability and profitability of investing in this sector in the State encouraging the local youth by providing them all technical financial and other facilities for established their income generating units.
He also asked the bank authorities to provide soft loan to the farmers and fruit growers for improving their activities in these sectors. He said that Government is committed to provide improved facilities to the people especially to the rural and remote masses for uplifting their economic status. He said that State Government has launched a number of welfare schemes for the people and asked them to come-forward and avail benefits of these schemes. He also stressed upon the youth to take benefits for purchasing inputs tools, provided by banks of loans.
Earlier, Chairman of the Bank, Dinesh Gupta apprised that hence forth the cliental of the bank will have the facility to transit the operations of their accounts for withdrawal as well as deposits of money at any of the branch of the Citizens Cooperative Bank irrespective of the fact that they this way, the needy clients having their accounts at Akhnoor can withdraw their money even from Jammu branches of the bank and also can make deposits in their respective accounts even from Jammu branches.
On the occasion, SDM, Tehsildar Akhnoor, officers, Sarpanch & Panchs, Vice Chairman, Deepak Gupta, Koushal Kumar Gupta, Parshotam Singh Pawar, Karunesh Kumar Gupta, Sandeep Panchnanda and Himanshu Beotra, Directors of the Bank along with Ashok Goswamy Managing Director, Kuldeep Gupta General Manager besides other officials of the bank.
