JAMMU, Nov 19: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated lane and drain at Saksar camp of Sai Khurd in Suchetgarh constituency.
The lane and drain has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 14 lakh under BADP in cluster model village Sai Khurd of Suchetgarh constituency.
Complimenting the people after inaugurating the lane and drain, the Minister said that the mandate of the present Government is to provide basic amenities to the people living in rural areas, adding that Government has formulated a comprehensive plan in this regard. He said that the villages of three panchayats of the constituency are being developed under cluster model village scheme and the people of this border would get facilities at par with urban areas. He said that every village of the constituency is witnessing well knit road communication, saying that work of blacktopping on left out roads would also be taken up soon.
Earlier, the Minister convened a public grievances redressal camp at R S Pura in which scores of deputations and individuals participated. The people apprised the Minister about developmental needs of their respective area and sought his intervention for their redressal. The demands which they projected were relating to PHE, PDD and Irrigation Departments, development of park, besides construction of lanes and drains and blocktopping of link roads.
The Minister issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned for attending the people on priority in addressing their problems. He also handed over sewing machine to a poor lady.
At Seer village, the Minister announced Rs. 7 lakh for construction of shed, assuring that their other genuine demands would also be met out in phased manner.
